What Are the Main Sources of Trauma?
Trauma can be caused by an overwhelmingly negative event that causes a lasting impact on your mental and emotional stability. While a number of causes of trauma are physically violent, others can be are psychological. Some common sources of trauma include:
Rape & Domestic Violence
Domestic violence can take many forms including: physical abuse, sexual abuse, rape, emotional abuse, intimidation, economic deprivation, threats of violence.
Natural Disasters
Natural disasters can be sudden and overwhelming. A common reaction to a Natural Disaster is shock, which at first manifests as numbness, or denial, that eventually can lead to depression.
Severe Illness and or Injury
Severe Illness or Injury can be traumatic on both levels, the physical, and also the mental and emotional. People who are very ill often show symptoms of post-traumatic stress, even if they don’t have it.
Violence or Death
A traumatic event that is unexpected, frightening, overwhelming, and causes significant distress. As well people say that they feel powerless to stop or change a Violent event.
All chronic conditions; negative patterns and pain stem from negative energy from past experiences that are trapped in our body – our nervous system.
